The Norwegian word for Christmas comes from the old Norse word, “jol” or “jolablot”. Back in the day, it was the holiday when the Vikings celebrated candlelight mass, midwinter, which falls in the time after the winter solstice.
Today we celebrate midwinter with this handmade aquavit with arctic mulberry and lingonberries. Bivrost Jolablot Aquavit is matured in sherry casks and stored for a year in old Nato bunkers in Norway.
